As of December 23, 2021, Plymouth Congregational Church  has canceled the upcoming 2021 Boar’s Head and Yule Log Festival. For nearly 50 years, this service has been an annual tradition during the week following Christmas Day. This staged, costumed, and musical presentation tells the story of Christmas and is a beloved tradition for church and community members.

In 2020, the festival was not held due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, the church created a documentary video that was shared virtually for the community via the church’s YouTube Channel. Plans are underway to re-release the Boar’s Head and Yule Log Festival video performance via YouTube (PlymouthChurchFW). Subscribe there for this limited release.

Initially, as pandemic restrictions began to loosen this year, it appeared that there would be an opportunity to safely present the Boar’s Head and Yule Log Festival. Safety plans and precautions included a requirement that all performers and audience show proof of vaccination.

Recent reports of breakthrough infections and hospitalizations, the imminent arrival of the Omicron variant, and the current positivity rate in Northeast Indiana have become increasingly serious and cause for concern. Therefore, organizers of the festival decided to cancel the performance out of an abundance of care for the safety of performers and audience.

Unless otherwise requested, all patrons for 2021 will automatically be considered patrons for 2022 when an in-person festival can hopefully resume. Participants, donors, and ticket holders will all be contacted directly by festival organizers and can direct further questions to the festival by calling 260-498-0084.
