One of Indiana’s leading jazz pianists has toured the world as a cruise ship musician and as the pianist of the popular group “Post Modern Jukebox.”  A superb pianist and composer, Mr. Berg will play a program of standards and original compositions. Mr. Berg is also joined by saxophonist Ed Renz for this program.  This program concludes with a free ice cream social.

Indiana’s own Cole Porter is known for his witty lyrics and memorable melodies which dominated the American popular music scene of the early part of the 20th century. However, few appreciate the depth of his skill as a composer of merit like those of his contemporaries who led the classical music trends of the time.

 

This concert will presented the duality of Cole Porter’s talent as a composer of both popular songs and classical music that arguably places him among some of the most innovative composers of his era.

This April, Heartland Sings and Plymouth Congregational Church welcome Mexican‑born composer Dr. Jorge Sosa for a special three‑day residency in Fort Wayne, April 24–26.

Across the weekend, Dr. Sosa will share his powerful immigration story, lead a practical music‑business workshop, and take part in "Songs of Immigration | A Journey Begins" — a recital of Dr. Sosa’s compositions celebrating immigrant voices and stories. The Sunday, April 26 performance at Plymouth Church will feature Heartland Sings’ Alejandra Sandoval‑Montañez (Principal Artist, Mezzo‑Soprano) and Seth Allen (Principal Artist, Tenor), joined by Collaborative Pianist Robert Nance. Featuring the Allen Digital concert organ and the Steinway Grand in the Sanctuary, Plymouth Congregational Church’s music director Robert Nance performed a varied program of keyboard favorites, joined by violinists Yana Bourkov-Monrov and David Ling, violist Deb Welter, cellist Matthew Fields, and bassist Brad Kuhns, with a cameo appearance from percussionist Dave Mendenhall. For over three decades, Plymouth Congregational Church has presented a commemoration of the life and legacy of Dr. King in word and song.  This dramatic presentation featured speakers from the community and musicians from Heartland Sings and participating churches.  It took place at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 1331 Gay Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46803.

Sunday, September 28, 2025 - 2:00 p.m. | ONE HUNDRED YEARS IN THE HUNDRED ACRE WOOD: A Centennial Celebration of Winnie the Pooh | David Bobay, baritone | Reggie Berg, piano

Baritone and program creator David Bobay and pianist Reggie Berg presented a variety of songs inspired by the World’s most famous bear, Winnie the Pooh.  This 45-minute, all-age appropriate program featured music  of Disney’s Sherman Brothers, to songs featuring A.A. Milne’s classic text set by composer Harold Fraser-Simson, to pop tunes by Kenny Loggins and Zooey Deschanel.  Watch here.

A VOCAL RECITAL | Alejandra Sandoval-Montañez, Mezzo Soprano

On August 24, "The Faces of Love" was performed, featuring mezzo soprano Alejandra Sandoval-Montañez, pianist Robert Nance, and guitarist Cote Godoy. The repertoire included well-known pieces, as well as obscure gems in English, Spanish, and French. This concert was an exploration of love's many facets, told through opera, art song, musical theatre, jazz, and boleros. Watch here. ​
