Sunday, May 28 — 4:00 pm
NEW ORLEANS JAZZ PENTECOST CELEBRATION

This is an outdoor program, held in the Plymouth Church parking lot at the corner of Berry St. and Fairfield Ave. Attendees should bring a chair, dress appropriately for a warm spring day, and are invited to don the colors of Pentecost (red, white, yellow). Music for this event features a jazz band of trumpet, trombone, clarinet, banjo, drums, piano and bass, and members of Plymouth’s choir will sing several songs as well. Rev. Timothy Murphy will also deliver a brief homily.

On the outstanding Steinway grand piano in the sanctuary of Plymouth Church, pianist Josiah Lund performed a dynamic recital of music by Handel, Beethoven, Bartok and Rachmaninoff. Watch here

This program features Prokoviev’s famous “Peter and the Wolf” transcribed for the organ and performed by Robert Nance at the Allen Renaissance Digital Concert Organ and Janice Furtner narrating. This program is now available for viewing here.

Newcomers to Fort Wayne, this husband and wife duo from Ecuador will present a varied program from  classical art song to indigenous music from South America. Watch here

Joined by Maestro Robert Nance, piano, Deborah Nitka Hicks, cello, Barrett Seals, oboe and Natalie Young, soprano in exciting works composed by Bach, Brahms, Rossini, Bernstein and female composers Betty Roe, Dorothy R.
